Rain, rain stay away ...

May, 18, 2011
BOSTON -- The tarp has been on the field at Fenway since last night, but chances of a baseball game being played tonight seem a little brighter than last night. A handful of pitchers are out in right field stretching and tossing. Meanwhile, the Red Sox say there is a "chance of scattered light rain showers during the late afternoon and early evening hours".

All Fenway gates will be opening at their regularly-scheduled time of 5:40 p.m., with a limited opening on Yawkey Way at 5:10, but there is still the possibility of a rain delay tonight.

Here is tonight's Red Sox lineup for the series opener against Victor Martinez and the Tigers:

1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. David Ortiz, DH
6. Jed Lowrie, SS
7. Mike Cameron, RF
8. Carl Crawford, LF
9. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
SP -- Clay Buchholz, RHP
