Lineup: Reddick over Drew in right field

July, 22, 2011
Does tonight’s lineup signal the end of J.D. Drew reign as the Red Sox’s starting right fielder? It’s probably not as dramatic as that, but it is noteworthy that Josh Reddick gets the start in right over Drew, who actually has good numbers against the tough lefty.

Drew is 9 for 25 (.360) against Hernandez with a pair of homers. Reddick has never faced Hernandez.

Here’s the full lineup, which has David Ortiz back after his three-game suspension:

1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. David Ortiz, DH
6. Carl Crawford, LF
7. Josh Reddick, RF
8. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
9. Marco Scutaro, SS
SP -- John Lackey, RHP

An interesting note from the Sox PR department: A win tonight would be Boston's 60th in its 97th game. It would be the club’s fewest games played to reach 60 wins since 1979 (95th game).
