An off day for Red Sox

August, 16, 2010
The Red Sox enjoyed a quiet off day after their 10-game, three-city road trip in which they went 5-5. On Tuesday they’ll begin a nine-game homestand against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and will welcome back All-Star second-baseman Dustin Pedroia after he missed nearly two months with a fractured foot.

With no game to watch tonight, here are some links to keep you busy and up-to-date on all things Red Sox:

* Steven Krasner was in Pawtucket over the weekend for Pedroia’s rehab assignment and has his post-game reaction and comments.

* Joe McDonald has a piece previewing Pedroia’s long-awaited return to the lineup.

* The MLB’s “Dog Days of August” series takes a look at whether the Rays have what it takes to make the playoffs and even win a championship,

* This week’s power rankings have the Red Sox at No. 9 -- with their rivals the Yankees and Rays at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.
