Red Sox lineup vs. Yankees

April, 9, 2011
BOSTON -- Red Sox manager Terry Francona has decided to start Jed Lowrie at shortstop today and give Marco Scutaro the day off. Also, even though Carl Crawford went 0-for-5 in the leadoff spot on Friday, he's staying put for now.

"I think he's going to be confident in any spot," Francona said. "That's the whole idea. We don't want guys to change, we want them to go and play their game. I think when you start asking guys to mold themselves to a specific spot in the order, you're asking for trouble. If he likes the first pitch, hit it. When he gets comfortable, [balls] will start flying."
