Ole Miss' McCluster gets in again

January, 2, 2010
ARLINGTON, Texas -- To borrow a phrase from another running back who wore No. 22 around these parts, Ole Miss' Dexter McCluster has been a diamond surrounded by trash during the Cotton Bowl.

McCluster's 2-yard touchdown out of the "Wild Rebel" formation gave Ole Miss a 14-7 lead with a little more than four minutes remaining.

Ole Miss' other score was an 86-yard run by McCluster, who ought to become the first back-to-back Cotton Bowl outstanding offensive player since SMU's Doak Walker in the late 1940s.

McCluster has provided all the highlights in a game marred by nine turnovers. He has rushed for 182 yards on 32 carries and added 45 yards on five receptions. He has accounted for more yardage than Oklahoma State.
