Dominant OU pads lead, 21-7

October, 2, 2010
DALLAS -- No. 8 Oklahoma widened its lead to 21-7 with 7:19 to go in the first half to open a margin more fitting the stat sheet. While the score didn't indicate total domination, that's what this is.

The Texas offense has not mustered a drive of more than four plays, including the 60-yard D.J. Monroe touchdown run that made it 14-7. Oklahoma is ripping the Texas offense through the air and on the ground and has more than doubled Texas in time of possession. Tailback DeMarco Murray has 59 of OU's 102 rushing yards and quarterback Landry Jones has completed 16-of-22 yards for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

He has made some terrific throws, including a long ball that Ryan Broyles went high to grab for a touchdown, but it was nullified by a motion penalty. No worry for OU, though, as it capped the 52-yard scoring drive with a 2-yard Jones to James Hanna touchdown pass, wide open, in the back of the end zone.

Outside of Monroe's big run, the Texas offense has managed 19 total yards.
