Giants sign safety Chris Horton

March, 15, 2012
The Giants continue to add depth to their secondary, signing former Redskins free agent safety Chris Horton.

Horton started 10 games during his rookie season in 2008 and had 76 tackles and one sack. But he played in just 15 games during 2009 and 2010, totaling 34 tackles over that span due to injuries. The 6-1, 221-pound safety from UCLA did not play last season after he was released by the Redskins prior to the season.

With veteran Deon Grant and Derrick Martin both unrestricted free agents, the Giants could use some depth at safety and on special teams. This week, the Giants re-signed cornerbacks Terrell Thomas, Michael Coe and Justin Tryon.

Here's the updated list of Giants' free agents and their moves so far.
