Mets infield prospect Josh Satin, who had been on the taxi squad with Mesa in the Arizona Fall League, which limited his appearances to Wednesdays and Saturdays, now has a full-time role. With fellow Mets farmhand Jordany Valdespin suffering a forearm strain, Satin now will get regular playing time. He also is playing his natural second base as opposed to first base, where he was primarily assigned to open the AFL season.

Satin, 25, continued to produce Thursday, in Mesa's 6-5 loss to Surprise. The sixth-round pick in 2008 out of Cal-Berkeley went 2-for-4 to lift his AFL average to .438.

Satin split the regular season between Class A St. Lucie and Double-A Binghamton. He hit a combined .311 with 12 homers and 74 RBIs in 495 at-bats.
