CLEVELAND -- Though Mariano Rivera bid his farewell to Cleveland when the Yankees paid visit in April, the Indians returned the favor by honoring the longtime Yankees closer, giving him a tribute video presentation and a gift between the two games of Monday’s doubleheader.

The 43-year-old Rivera received a gold “Enter Sandman” record from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, paying homage to the Metallica song that Rivera has used for his entrance music since 1999. It was presented to him by Indians President Mark Shapiro and included Rivera’s name engraved into an accompanying plaque.

"I didn't expect anyone to do anything," Rivera said prior to Game 1. "They do this because they want to do it, not because I expect anything. I am very grateful.”
