Purdue QB Sindelar gets extra year of eligibility

Purdue starting quarterback Elijah Sindelar has received an additional year of eligibility from the NCAA, the team confirmed to ESPN on Thursday. Sindelar hopes he won't need the extra year, however, as he eyes a transition to the NFL.

When Purdue kicks off its season Aug. 30 against Nevada, this will be Gate TT, the Tyler Trent Student Gate, in honor of Purdue student and superfan Tyler Trent, whose story began to be told here before the Michigan game in 2017 and who inspired millions during the final months of his fight against cancer.

Top-ranked WR Haselwood commits to Sooners

ESPN 300 wide receiver Jadon Haselwood announced his commitment to Oklahoma on Saturday at the All-American Bowl. Haselwood is a five-star who had previously committed to Georgia but decommitted from the Bulldogs in October.

ESPN 300 wide receiver David Bell committed to Purdue on Saturday. The Indianapolis receiver gives the Boilermakers three ESPN 300 commitments in the 2019 class, which is the same amount Purdue had in the six classes combined from 2013 to 2018.
