Closer battles, sans Foulke

February, 16, 2007
Well, I guess we have some clarity now on who will be the closer in Cleveland this season, eh?

If you haven't heard, Keith Foulke has decided he doesn't have time for the pain. He retired today, saying he's going to stop attempting to use his right hand, elbow and shoulder (and his balky knees as well) to throw a baseball, but he will step aside before ever throwing a pitch for the Indians and live like normal folk. Just like the rest of us. So we wish Foulke well in this new chapter of his career and announce the winner of this position battle for Tribe closer, on the surface, would be Joe Borowski. For now.

Wait, did I just type "for now"?
