The Devil Rays are young and loaded with potential, but are they for real or just an 11-game comet?

Judging from the various sources I checked, the biggest baseball story Sunday was Ken Griffey, Jr. hitting his 500th home run (and on Father's Day, no less!). And yeah, that's a good one. It wasn't the best, though. For one thing, 500 just ain't what it used to be. Griffey's the fourth major-leaguer to reach that milestone in this decade, and pretty soon Fred McGriff's going to become the fifth. And while 500 once practically conferred automatic membership in the Hall of Fame, that's probably no longer true. Essentially, 500 is the new 400.
