Denver Nuggets: Every team goes through a honeymoon period when they hire a new coach. Carmelo Anthony is caught up in that middle of that euphoria, which is why, for now, all is right in Denver again.

"I'm good with it. I'm happy with it. He's the type of coach that I like," Anthony told The Denver Post after the Nuggets rolled to their second straight win under Karl. "He knows the game. He's dealt with players before. Of course, we're still learning and still checking each other out. I'm good, I'm happy. This is probably the best (mood) I could be in."

However, Karl has only administered his first dose of tough love to Melo, and the medicine wasn't that strong.

"He understands that I don't care if he shoots the ball 30 times a game," Karl said. "But they've got to be all good shots. Well, not all good shots. But he can have one or two bad ones when he shoots 30. My thing is effective, efficient basketball that makes the team feel good at both ends."

Karl's advice was chicken soup to a scorer's soul.
