Expect the New Orleans Pelicans to pick up the fourth-year options on Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart's contracts soon, source says. Ball, the No. 2 pick in the 2017 Draft, is slated to make just over $11 million next season while Hart, the No. 30 pick in the same draft, will make just under $3.5 million in 2020-21.

Zion undergoes knee surgery, out 6-8 weeks

Zion Williamson had surgery Monday to treat a torn meniscus in his right knee and is expected to miss six to eight weeks, the New Orleans Pelicans announced.

Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry didn't have any update on Zion Williamson's status on Sunday afternoon, saying "when we have something that needs to be said, we'll do that. Right now, it just is what it is." ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski said on Friday Williamson will miss a "period of weeks" with right knee soreness. Pels guard Lonzo Ball said the team will hold down the fort without Williamson but added "he's not out the whole season, he'll miss a couple games but he'll be back strong."
