The signing of Luc Mbah a Moute now has the Clippers with 14 guaranteed contracts and 3 players, Milos Teodosic, Patrick Beverley and CJ Williams that are partially/non-guaranteed. The $6.3M ($2.1M guaranteed) Teodosic contract becomes guaranteed if the guard is not waived by July 15. Los Angeles now has $118M in salary, $5.7M below the tax with restricted free agent Montrezl Harrell unsigned. The Clippers are also $11.8M below the hard cap.

DeAndre Jordan has agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Mavericks worth close to the $24.1 million player option he declined to exercise with the Clippers, league sources confirmed to ESPN.

The day before 2018 NBA free agency

Even with DeAndre Jordan opting out of his $24.1M contract for 2018-19, the Clippers are right the salary cap. The max amount of room Los Angeles could get to is $13.6M (including the $1.8M Montrezl Harrell FA hold) but that would take waiving Milos Teodosic and Patrick Beverley. The available cap space is comparable to the Clippers staying over the cap and having the $8.6M midlevel and $3.4M bi-annual exception to use. Los Angeles now has 7 players on expiring contracts.

Sources: Mavericks targeting Jordan again

DeAndre Jordan spurned the Mavericks once, but that isn't deterring them from making the Clippers center their primary target should he decide to opt out of his contract with LA and become a free agent.

The Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets, LA Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors and Utah Jazz will play games against Australian NBL teams this preseason. The Adelaide 36ers, Melbourne United, New Zealand Breakers, Perth Wildcats and Sydney Kings will play a total of seven games against NBA teams from Sept. 28 to Oct. 5. "My history in Australia and my history especially with Australian basketball has helped shape my current status as an NBA head coach," said Sixers coach Brett Brown, who currently coaches Australian product Ben Simmons and used to coach the Australian men's national team. "The basketball scene is extremely well organized, extremely well coached, and the growth of the game is not to be disputed. The wonderful Australian culture only adds to the rise of the game. Australia has been good to me and I am thrilled to be able to give back in some small way"

Some 2018-19 luxury tax savings for Washington with the addition of Austin Rivers. The guard is in the final year of his contract with a cap hit of $12.65M with the Wizards saving a projected $1.4M towards the tax. Marcin Gortat is also in the final year of his contract with a cap hit of $13.5M. The veteran center gives the Clippers an insurance policy with DeAndre Jordan still deciding on his $24.1M player option.
