When was the last time a heavily recruited high school football player was forced to make a decision between playing college football and rodeo.

Despite living in the North Houston area, Paul Freeney became addicted to horse riding and roping as a young man. Now he owns a horse and tries to spend every free moment he can practicing rodeo stunts. Of course, I wouldn't be writing about Paul if he wasn't one of the nation's premier high school football players.

The 6-foot-4, 248-pound defensive end from Aldine (Eisenhower), Texas, doesn't really have to make a choice between chasing quarterbacks or chasing steers. However, he would certainly love to continue his rodeo roping career while playing for the Texas A&M Aggies.
