True teams are the ones that excel

When I think about college basketball teams, present or past, I don't immediately conjure up numbers. It doesn't register in my melon how many points a team racks up per game, how many points or rebounds a player averages, or the percentage to which a defense holds opponents.

When I think of a team, it gives me a feeling. It could be admiration, reverence, astonishment, disillusionment or frustration. When I watch a true team play though, I see magnificence. When five guys on the floor play as one, basketball is absolutely beautiful.
