Q: What are the NFL prospects of Oregon State players Dwan Edwards, Steven Jackson and James Newson?
Mark, Corvallis, Ore.
Steven Jackson
Steven Jackson has 3,569 total yards and 33 TDs over the past two years.
KIPER -- All have definite NFL futures. Jackson is a big running back (6-2, 230 pounds) yet still has the elusiveness to make people miss. He also has 4.45 speed in the 40. Jackson catches the ball effectively out of the backfield, and his 1,134 rushing yards have come without much help from an average offensive line. After putting up nearly 1,700 yards last year, Jackson looks like a solid first-round choice if he chooses to enter the draft.
