Editor's note:'s Mel Kiper Jr. continues his look at the best players in each conference by examining the top five players on the rosters of four of the eight teams in the Mountain West Conference (Part 2) (schools listed in alphabetical order).
Mountain West Conference: Part 1

Colorado State
1. Joel Dreessen, TE/H-back, jr -- He missed five games last year with a groin pull, yet he still caught 29 passes for an amazing 35-yard average. All three of his touchdowns were over 80 yards and he's definitely a guy who creates big plays.
2. David Anderson WR, jr. -- He set a CSU record last year with 72 receptions and also scored nine touchdowns.
3. Erik Pears OT, sr. -- This is his fourth year as a starter and he's a big man at 6-8, 310.
4. Patrick Goodpaster DE, sr. -- Last year he had 49 tackles and five sacks to go with his ten stops behind the line of scrimmage.
5. Justin Holland, QB, jr. -- He has a big arm and is taking over for last year's starter Bradley Van Pelt. Holland can really throw the football and CSU will take advantage of that with a drop back style and a lot of play action.
