Tuberville on hot seat at Auburn

Hard to believe, but Tommy Tuberville has gone from a fat contract extension last year to the hot seat this year. That's what happens when you go from the top five in August to 6-4 in November, with nothing but pride and a mid-level bowl game to play for. Tuberville has a prodigious buyout in his deal: $3 million. But that might not be enough of a deterrent to the impatient boosters who thought they had an SEC championship and the school's first BCS bowl bid in their immediate future. Put it this way for Tuberville: Beating Alabama Nov. 22 might well be mandatory. Even an upset of old rival Georgia this weekend might not be enough to mitigate the sting of what would be a big upset in the game you never want to lose.
