Will Kansas ever find an identity? Why is Mike Leach calling out Texas Tech? How good is Oklahoma's Plan B? These questions and more are answered in our Big 12 notebook.

The Bears played well enough to win against Iowa State but once again self-destructed with four fumbles, a missed field goal, a missed extra point and several ill-timed penalties in a 26-25 loss. One of the penalties was offside on fourth-and-2 on Iowa State's game-winning TD drive. Coach Guy Morriss continues to say it's "all the little stuff that is costing us the game." That it is the stuff coaching has to correct.

  • This may have been the best game the offense has had as the Bears outgained Iowa State, 450 yards to 257 yards. Quarterback Dane King and his receivers appeared to be on the same page and running back Paul Mosley was productive (100 yards on 20 carries). The defense was stingy. Turnovers, however, did Baylor in. The Bears keep giving it away but don't collect any (no turnovers forced in 18 straight quarters).
