Last year College Station was the land of opportunity. If you were a redshirt freshman, playing time and even starting jobs were there for the taking, and sometimes it didn't take a knock-down, drag-out battle to snag them. By the end of last season, six redshirt freshmen -- offensive linemen Corey Clark, Kirk Elder and Chris Yoder, defensive linemen Red Bryant and Jason Jack, and safety Japhus Brown -- were running with the first team.
"Last year's redshirt freshmen came in full speed ahead, charge, ready to take over," coach Dennis Franchione said. "I haven't seen that from this group."
Joseph Bryant (85) was one of six impact redshirt freshmen for the Aggies.
