Three NFC coaches on hot seat

Two NFL coaches are already gone, and three more (including Mike Martz) are on the hot seat.

There has been plenty of coaching news in the NFL lately. Butch Davis is out as head coach of the Cleveland Browns, and some speculation has the former Miami Hurricanes coach returning to the college ranks at Florida. Last month, Dave Wannstedt resigned as head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

Each year in the NFL, the list of coaches on the hot seat grows as the season progresses. With Davis and Wannstedt gone, at least three other coaches are on the hot seat (all in the NFC).

Mike Holmgren made the playoffs last year, but his Seattle Seahawks are in a dogfight for the NFC West with the St. Louis Rams. The first-place Seahawks (6-5) lead the Rams (5-6) in a division that conceivably could be won with an 8-8 record.
