With speculation ramping up that Arizona could trade quarterback Josh Rosen and select Oklahoma star Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick, new Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury said Tuesday that he's sticking with Rosen.

The Cardinals hired Matt Harriss, formerly of the Detroit Lions, as their director of football administration -- basically the guy who handles the salary cap and rules for the team. He replaced Mike Disner, who left the Cardinals recently to take Harris' job in Detroit, where the position is at the vice president level.

With the Cardinals addressing one of the primary offseason needs by signing CB Robert Alford, it'll be interesting to see how they approach the draft should they move back from No. 1. LSU CB Greedy Williams may still be an option if they move into the middle of the top 10 but the Cardinals could look to move back further in the first round and address other needs such as WR or OL.

It's safe to say that Robert Alford will start offseason practices as the Cardinals' starting cornerback opposite Patrick Peterson, someone they've been searching for for a long time. Alford will fit the Cardinals' secondary well. He played 788 of his 902 defensive snaps on the right side last season with the Falcons. Peterson split his time almost evenly between the left and right sides last year, 48.2 percent to 46.2 percent, per ESPN Stats & Information.

The Cardinals signed veteran cornerback Robert Alford to a three-year deal, the team announced Thursday. Alford was released by the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday after playing all six seasons of his career with them. Alford has played in 88 games, starting the last 76. He was a second-round draft pick by the Falcons in 2013 out of Southeastern Louisiana. Alford has 11 career interceptions. Last season, he had 50 tackles in 15 games.

They also announced that defensive line coach Chris Achuff, assistant special teams coach Randall McCray, strength and conditioning coach Buddy Morris), assistant strength and conditioning coach Vernon Stephens and offensive assistant/assistant quarterbacks coach Cam Turner will all return this season.

The Cardinals claimed LB Tanner Vallejo from the Cleveland Browns today, the team announced. Vallejo played in 13 games last season with one start. He had 20 defensive tackles and seven special teams tackles in addition to one forced fumble. He was drafted in the sixth round in 2017 by the Buffalo Bills out of Boise State.

I'm sure this will devastate the Patriots: they finished fourth in FPI's final 2018 rankings.
