This Just In

Eagles coach Doug Pederson just raised the stakes for Sunday's all-important matchup at the Dallas Cowboys. During his weekly radio appearance on 94.1 WIP, Pederson came close to guaranteeing an Eagles win at AT&T Stadium. "We're going down to Dallas, and our guys are gonna be ready to play. And we're gonna win that football game, and when we do, we're in first place in the NFC East," Pederson said. "We control our own destiny. We're right where we need to be."

Jerry Jones: Dallas' free fall 'not just' on Garrett

The Cowboys dropped their third straight game on Sunday -- this time to the previously winless Jets -- but owner/GM Jerry Jones is not ready to pin sole responsibility on coach Jason Garrett. "This is across the board," Jones said of Dallas' struggles.

The Cowboys trailed 31-3 against the Green Bay Packers last week and lost 34-24. They trailed 21-3 Sunday against the Jets and lost 24-22. Slow starts have been an issue all season. “We're putting ourselves behind. We're putting our defense in a tough spot and we're not playing complimentary football,” Dak Prescott said. “It's as simple as that. We've got to start faster. We have to get points. We have to get touchdowns and allow our defense to play from in front.”

Darnold throws 2 TDs in return, Jets edge Cowboys 24-22

Sam Darnold gave the Jets' struggling offense a huge boost by throwing two touchdown passes in his return from mononucleosis, and New York held on to beat the Dallas Cowboys 24-22 on Sunday night for their first win of the season.

The only good news for the Cowboys is Philadelphia lost as well to fall to 3-3. Next Sunday's game against the Eagles at AT&T Stadium potentially will be massive for a lot of folks with the Cowboys.

The Cowboys season has hit a crossroad with their 24-22 loss to the previously winless New York Jets. Their three-game winning streak is a distant memory with now a three-game losing streak. The offense failed in critical moments. The defense was shredded in the first half. Brett Maher kissed a 40-yard field goal attempt. Even with injuries, this should not have happened.

Brett Maher makes kicks from 50, 62 and 33 yards but misses from 40. There was a mixup in the operation because he hesitated with his footwork on the kick, pushing the ball to the right.
