Panthers, Texans to play in London for 1st time

The Panthers and Texans will play in London for the first time as the NFL announced the four matchups to be held in England during the 2019 season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars' opponent for their annual London home game in 2019 will be the Houston Texans, the team announced Monday morning. The date will be announced later. It's the second time the Jaguars will play an AFC South opponent in Wembley Stadium. They beat Indianapolis in 2016. The Jaguars have played a home game in London annually since 2013 and are 3-3.

The Jaguars announce they have re-signed S Jarrod Wilson to a three-year contract. He was set to become a free agent when the new league year begins in March. Wilson originally signed as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and has played in 47 games (two starts).

RB Lamar Miller has been named to the 2019 Pro Bowl to replace Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (injury). Miller is the fifth Texan that will appear in the game, joining LB Jadeveon Clowney, WR DeAndre Hopkins, LB Benardrick McKinney and DE J.J. Watt. Miller ran for 973 yards and 5 TDS on 210 carries and caught 25 passes for 163 yards and one TD in 14 games this season.

Source: Clowney gets $1M to settle option beef

Jadeveon Clowney received a bonus of $1.005 million to resolve a dispute regarding which position he should have been listed as playing during his fifth-year option, ESPN's Field Yates reports.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien said Sunday that wide receiver Demaryius Thomas wants to keep playing after suffering an Achilles injury last month that ended his season. O'Brien said it was a "tough injury" that Thomas suffered and at age 31, it's one that's "not easy to come back from." Thomas is under contract for next season with a base salary of $14 million, none of which is guaranteed.

Texans' Hopkins played through shoulder sprain

DeAndre Hopkins played the second half of the Texans' season-ending loss to Seattle with a sprained shoulder. Hopkins suffered the injury in the first half of Houston's 21-7 loss in an AFC wild-card game.
