Bucs coach Bruce Arians said rookie linebacker Devin White has a Grade 1 MCL sprain in his left knee and will be "day to day." White has not been ruled out for Week 3 against the Giants, but there is the possibility he misses a game or two. He suffered the injury in the first quarter of Thursday's win over the Panthers, left the game and did not return.

Bucs coach Bruce Arians said rookie linebacker Devin White has a Grade 1 MCL sprain and will be "day to day." He is walking around. The initial diagnosis last night was also a sprain. He has not been ruled out against the Giants but there is the possibility he misses some time. They have to wait and see.

Bucs use goal-line stand to beat Panthers 20-14

Jameis Winston threw for 208 yards and a touchdown, Tampa Bay held Cam Newton in check and came up with a late goal-line stand and the Buccaneers beat the Carolina Panthers 20-14 early Friday to give coach Bruce Arians his first victory with the team.

Todd Bowles' defense has allowed just one offensive touchdown in two games. This is after the Bucs gave up an average of 29 points a game last year. The work he's done with that group — between the scheme shift and getting guys like Vernon Hargreaves and Jordan Whitehead to play so confidently — deserves major kudos.

Two sources tell me that Bucs linebacker Devin White will undergo an MRI tomorrow but they believe he has a sprain in his knee. This was first reported by Pewter Report. They're still not 100-percent certain but a source close to the situation believes "he's fine."

Jameis Winston is 4-of-5 for 105 yards and a touchdown on passes of 15+ yards downfield. Winston was only 2-of-6 on such passes for 44 yards in Week 1. He's been able to set his feet tonight with a cleaner pocket.

It took nearly an entire half, but the Bucs finally got the ball to Mike Evans — Jameis Winston connected with him deep down the left sideline for 41 yards, then hit Chris Godwin on a skinny post for a TD. That was a drive this offense has desperately needed. They hadn't been able to get out of their own way these first six quarters of the season, with penalties, drops, interceptions, players not running their routes properly. The exception to that was one TD drive last week (also to Godwin), who has really stepped up in this game. He is 5-for-5 for 79 yards with three catches of 20+ yards.

Injury update: Bucs linebacker Devin White is out with a knee injury. He's been replaced by Kevin Minter.

Official weather delay time for Bucs-Panthers: 26 minutes. That's around how quickly the storm came through during pregame.

The Bucs at Panthers game has been suspended due to lightning. With 8:31 remaining in the first quarter, players and officials were ordered to clear the field. Fans have been ordered to take cover under the stadium.

Devin White was on the field for several seconds after tackling Christian McCaffrey on a run up the middle. He was slow to get up, limped and went back down before leaving the game. Keep in mind, he just returned to full-strength the last few days after being pretty sick last week with tonsillitis.

Bucs' inactives against the Panthers: WR Scotty Miller, QB Blaine Gabbert, S Andrew Adams, OLB Demone Harris, G Zack Bailey, T Josh Wells and TE Tanner Hudson.

Bucs kicker Matt Gay is out here attempting field goals — including one of 50 yards a few moments ago — in the rain. This downpour came out of nowhere.

Even with the three interceptions (two pick-sixes) Jameis Winston threw in Week 1, there has been unquestionable support for him inside the building as the Bucs prepare to face Carolina.

Best bets for Bucs-Panthers

With Week 2 kicking off, our experts run through the bets they like for Thursday's Bucs-Panthers game.

Bruce Arians said the plan is still to start Peyton Barber this week. "Peyton will be the starter. [When] RoJo is ready, Peyton gets a little tired, RoJo will get in there and if he has the hot hand, he stays in there until he gets tired."‬‪

Here's Wednesday's Bucs-Panthers final injury report. Only Blaine Gabbert has been ruled out.

Tuesday's Bucs-Panthers injury report....you can see that Devin White, who battled Tonsillitis last week, has fully practiced both days. I caught up with him after practice today and you can tell he's feeling much more like himself again.
