Bucs general manager Jason Licht on Devin White: "He definitely leaves an impression that doesn't leave you."

Jenna Laine ESPN Staff Writer

Devin White just said he WILL be bringing three of his horses to Tampa -- Daisy Mae, Overdrive and Taylor Mae. "We'll be there. We'll be ready to roll." He called them "family."

Some will argue that Josh Allen would have had the potential for more impact for the Bucs at No. 5 after registering 17.0 sacks and 21.5 tackles for a loss last year at Kentucky...especially for a Bucs team whose 24.3 percent pressure percentage has been the lowest in the league since 2014. But Devin White is an outstanding player who can hit and can cover. He fits the "attack" style of Todd Bowles' defense.

When a linebacker was the nearest defender to the target receiver last season, the Bucs allowed an 82% completion percentage — league-worst — per NFL Next Gen Stats. Devin White ran a 4.42 40-yard dash.

LSU LB Devin White is an easy fit for the Bucs. Run and hit traits at the second-level with 4.41 speed. White fills a major need for the Tampa defense and has the ability to match in coverage underneath. Impact defender who will find the ball.

Seth Walder ESPN Analytics

Devin White has a 70% chance to become a Pro Bowl-caliber player in his first three seasons, per ESPN's NFL Draft Projections. That's by far the highest of any player in this class.

The Bucs have selected Devin White, linebacker, LSU. They now have Kwon Alexander's replacement.

Thanks to Clelin Ferrell going to the Raiders at No. 5, the Bucs now have the luxury of choosing Josh Allen, Devin White or Ed Oliver. All three would be outstanding.

Bruce Arians isn't looking to trade out of the No. 5 spot tonight. "You'd have to throw the bank and open a vault for me and [general manager] Jason [Licht] to probably move back. That's not saying that we wouldn't…just looking at the guys that are there. Really, [there are] six guys that are once-in-a-generation type players. I feel great about this draft."

Draft Night is Dark and Full of Terrors

Mina and Domonique Foxworth talk about why the Giants should not take a quarterback with either of their first round picks (14:15), whether or not Dwayne Haskins would be an upgrade over Jameis Winston in Tampa Bay (23:14), if they'd rather have unlimited queso or unlimited salsa (37:53), and if Domonique would hug Roger Goodell if he were a draft prospect this year (1:08:20).

Kacey Reynolds, a 19-year-old Bucs fan, will announce the team's first-round draft pick Thursday night in Nashville through Make-A-Wish. Reynolds is battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma and has been a lifelong Bucs fan.
