DeMarco Murray retires after seven seasons

Running back DeMarco Murray, who was named the 2014 Offensive Player of the Year, announced his retirement Friday after seven seasons in the NFL.

DeMarco Murray helped change the trajectory of the Titans franchise after being acquired from the Eagles in March 2016. He had extremely high peaks (Offensive Player of the Year in 2014 and AFC's leading rusher in 2016. But it was clear last season that Murray was running out of tread on his tires and injuries followed him all year. He talked at times about pursing a career in sports broadcasting when he retired. I'd imagine that will be his next step.

Mike Vrabel said he expects everyone except Jack Conklin to be healthy and back on the field during training camp. That includes Rishard Matthews and Corey Davis, both of whom missed parts of offseason workouts. Titans report for training camp July 25, first practice July 26.

Titans assistant trainer Jerome Reid has accepted a job to become the Philadelphia Eagles' head trainer. Titans celebrated him at the end of practice for the promotion. He was entered his fifth season with the team in that role. Former Eagles trainer Chris Peduzzi stepped down in February.

Titans HC Mike Vrabel said the biggest thing LT Taylor Lewan misses by skipping mandatory minicamp is "being coached" defers to GM Jon Robinson on contract holdout. Two Titans players gave support for Lewan's decision, another elected not to insert themselves in his money matters.

Talks continue as Lewan skips Titans minicamp

Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan is entering the final year of his contract, and both sides have been working on a long-term deal.
