Overall: Burt was academically ineligible as a true freshman in 2000. He played in eight games, respectively, as a "wave" defensive tackle from 2001-'02 before taking over as a fulltime starter as a junior in 2003, when he finished with 35 tackles, five tackles for loss and one sack. Burt remained a fulltime starter as a senior and finished with 34 tackles, 7.5 TFL and two sacks. Burt made noticeable strides in terms of his technique and playmaking skills as a senior. He is a little bit of a late-bloomer that struggled with his academics and durability early in his career, but has matured as a football player and a person. He is still, however, too inconsistent and has a lot of work to do when it comes to his leverage and hand usage.
