Overall: Carter started the final 10 games of his true freshman season in 2001 and has been a fulltime starter since. He has missed just two games over the course of his four collegiate seasons as a starter, but there are some long-term concerns about past knee injuries that could affect him on draft day. Carter is undersized, needs to continue to get bigger and stronger, and may always need help against massive NT's in the NFL. He is just a decent athlete and durability issues will affect his draft stock as well. He does have good short-area quickness, toughness, awareness, experience and technique. However, he projects as nothing more than a backup in the NFL. In our opinion, Carter is a classic example of a terrific college player that simply lacks the "measurables" to translate that production to the NFL, which is why we grade him out as no ...
