Overall: McLendon was named ACC Rookie of the Year as a true freshman in 2002 after rushing for 1,101 yards and 18 touchdowns, while also adding 42 receptions for 354 yards. He averaged nearly five yards per carry and had 40 more catches as a sophomore in 2003 but missed four complete games and playing time in several others with a variety of different injuries. McLendon didn't have any major injuries in 2004 when he rushed for 770 yards on 167 carries, but he did miss a game (Richmond) due to a nagging hamstring injury suffered in summer camp. McLendon has some upside because of his size, athleticism and toughness as a runner. In many ways he reminds us of Stephen Davis (Panthers).
