ATHENS, Greece – Yo, Yolanda. And goodbye what's-his-name.

Wednesday's Day 12 of these Olympic Games was full of triumph and tragedy. A stunning triumph for Greece, winning an amazing sixth gold medal as Fani Halkia stormed the women's 400-meter hurdles final in 52.82 seconds.

Olympic Fact You Don't Really Need to Check: No man called Fani has ever won the 400m hurdles.

And triumph for USA Basketball's Yolanda Griffith, who starred in Wednesday's 102-72 quarterfinal destruction of Greece. I'm reliably informed she loves her semi-namesake, the one and only Andy Griffith.

I'll fight you for him, Yolanda.

The four-time WNBA All-Star – that's Yolanda, not Andy – top-scored with 14 points, providing you don't count Shannon Doherty on 21 and Tina Turner with 20. Those names might be wrong; I only care about Yolanda.

By the way, I've been asked by 280 million Americans not to interview Yolanda.

In case the Church Curse strikes again.
