Some other highlights from the USSF Board of Directors meeting today. The failure by the men's national team to qualify for the World Cup, "will reduce our ability to achieve our mission in the short term," said General Secretary Dan Flynn. Said USSF needs to focus on improving on the field. Also indicated that USSF will miss out on upside potential in sponsorships, licensing and retail. "We are still well positioned in the sports landscape with an opportunity to grow across the board," said Flynn. Emphasis will be on the USWNT for next two years, which lead up to World Cup and Olympics. The CBA for the U.S. men's national team runs through the end of 2018. The USWNT runs through 2021. The sponsorship deal with Nike and the broadcast and marketing rights deal with SUM are currently in a "quiet period" so USSF isn't in a position to negotiate new deal with anyone. Deals expire in 2022. Gulati said these deals represent "roughly 50 percent of our revenues on an annual basis."

Premier League: Chelsea title hopes crushed.

Craig Burley recaps some of the most notable results from Saturday's Premier League action, headlined by West Ham's shock win over Chelsea.

1:16

Chelsea began this weekend with a great opportunity to make up ground on the Manchester clubs at the top of the Premier League, but they are likely to end it even further adrift of the title race. A limp performance at the London Stadium was punished by an impressive West Ham, who scored early through Marco Arnautovic and never looked likely to be breached. There were no positives for Chelsea, and Antonio Conte will watch events unfold at Old Trafford on Sunday in sombre mood.
