TOP STORY: Man United to beat Juve to Benfica youngster?
Manchester United have been in Portugal of late to watch Benfica youngster Ruben Dias as they search for defensive reinforcements amid a mini crisis at Old Trafford.
Calciomercato reports that United scouts are assessing whether or not the 22-year-old defender, who has 13 appearances with Portugal's senior team, could help them fill the void left in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's backline by the injured Eric Bailly. The Ivorian picked up a knee injury during United's match against Tottenham in the International Champions Cup in July.
Minor surgery has sidelined Bailly since then, with the injury highlighting a threadbare group of reserves in defence for United despite the summer acquisition of Harry Maguire from Leicester.
The Old Trafford outfit will have to be aggressive once the window opens in January, though, with Calciomercato also reporting that Serie A champions Juventus are also keeping tabs on Dias.

14.47 BST: Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has suggested he could finish his career in MLS once he leaves London. The 32-year-old has three years left on his Spurs contract but America could be calling.
"I do not think I'm going to finish [my career] at Tottenham. I still have a few years ahead of me. In any case, I will do everything to make the most of it.," Lloris told France Football. "You also have to know when to say stop at the right time, but I'm not against the idea of discovering something new. That could be the United States. I could finish over there, we'll see.
"I never really opened the doors [to the idea of leaving Tottenham] because I felt like I was happy where I was. It's not a lack of ambition on my part, it's just that I'm part of a project and every year I've seen the progress to reinforce my decision.
"If tomorrow I felt there was a regression, certainly I'd then ask the question [about leaving]."

A €70m bid would probably be enough for a team to capture him, but Juve would have to sell Paulo Dybala or someone else before they could afford that.
13.18 BST: Kosovo forward Vedat Muriqi is being scouted by both Tottenham and Manchester United, according to reports in Turkey.

"At the end of last season, I felt that it wouldn't be good for me to return to Madrid," the 20-year-old said. "In Madrid there are many great players and the competition is huge. It was obvious that the best thing for me was to ask to go out on loan again, which is something the club was also in agreement with. My aim is to play for Real Madrid. That is why I signed for them because I want to play there one day."
09.09 BST: Real Madrid, Sevilla, Nice and West Ham(!) were close to signing Barcelona starlet Ansu Fatu this summer before he finally committed to a new deal, says Mundo Deportivo.

De Gea ended months of uncertainty over his future on Monday by signing a new United deal until at least 2023. Despite interest from Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain and United's decline in the Premier League, the 28-year-old committed himself to Old Trafford that could see him tied to the club until 2024 due to the option to extend the contract by a further year.
However, The Times reports that the Spain international had to be convinced that United had the "ambition and direction" to challenge alongside Europe's other major clubs once more before he eventually agreed to the deal worth around £375,000 a week, which makes him the world's highest-paid goalkeeper.

The Daily Express quotes the attacking midfielder as saying: "From my side, I want to stay. I have one year left and I want to stay because I like to play for Chelsea.
"I love this club, I love to live in London and my family loves it here. I have been here six years already so everything is perfect for me. Of course there is more I want to do at Chelsea, win the Champions League!
"I want to win more titles here, I want to play more games, to score more goals so everything that I can do, I will try hard to do."

Napoli to move for Celtic ace
Carlo Ancelotti's side have been keeping tabs on the Frenchman for the past two years and have been impressed by his size, strength and stellar finishing since the 21-year-old made the switch to Celtic Park from PSG in August 2017.
Fellow Italian sides Atalanta and Sampdoria -- as well as Bundesliga big boys Borussia Dortmund -- are also rumoured to be interested in the France Under-21 international, who has started the season in blistering form, with 10 goals for club and country already this campaign.
A move for Edouard won't be cheap, however, with the SPL champions looking for a fee of about £30 million, which would more than triple the £9 million they paid to make his loan move from PSG permanent just over a year ago.
Mandzukic's Juve departure gets close
The Italian publication believes a meeting between Bianconeri chiefs and counterparts at Qatar-based Al Gharafa will take place on Tuesday morning, with the Qatar Stars League side set to make a €10 million offer for the World Cup runner-up with Croatia.
Last season, the 33-year-old made his fewest Juve appearances in a league campaign since his arrival from Atletico Madrid in 2015, and with the Old Lady looking to balance the books to continue funding the wages of Cristiano Ronaldo, it now looks like he will be moved on.
Should Mandzukic make the move, he is set to pocket a tidy €6 million a year.
