Brazilian Raffael's second-half brace earned Borussia Monchengladbach a 2-0 victory over Stuttgart and their first win in four games.

Gladbach had not won since beating Cologne in their opening Bundesliga fixture, drawing two and losing the other since, but two goals in the space of 17 minutes got them back on track.

Following a quiet opening half Raffael broke the deadlock in the 57th minute after playing the ball out wide right to Nico Elvedi before breaking into the box and guiding a volley into...

Timothee Kolodziejczak speaks to reporters at Mexico's Monterrey Airport.

Timothee Kolodziejczak has signed for Liga MX side UANL Tigres, leaving Borussia Monchengladbach only nine months after joining from Sevilla in a €7.5 million transfer.

After joining Monchengladbach with high hopes in January, the 25-year-old went on to make only two brief appearances in the second half of the 2016-17 season.

In the summer, the French defender then picked up a thigh injury and did not feature for Gladbach in their first three matches of the new domestic season.

Fabian Johnson expects to play midfield, not full-back vs. Costa Rica

Bruce Arena says he's confident all 26 U.S. players in his latest squad can make an impact against Costa Rica and Honduras.
Christian Pulisic talks the changes at Dortmund, the pressures he faces and what he brings to the U.S. national team.
Brad Guzan reflects on the United States' 14-match unbeaten run entering two crucial World Cup qualifying matches.
As qualifying winds down, Bruce Arena says the U.S. are still a long way from Russia, but hopes experience helps his team.

WHIPPANY, New Jersey -- United States international Fabian Johnson says that in his conversations with manager Bruce Arena, the plan ahead of Friday's World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica is for him to play in midfield, and not at full-back.

Usual right-back DeAndre Yedlin wasn't called up to the U.S. squad as he recovers from a hamstring injury sustained earlier this month. That has led to speculation that Arena might be inclined to play Johnson at that position, where he excelled for the U.S....

United States' Fabian Johnson set to return to Monchengladbach training

Fabian Johnson missed the Bundesliga opener with a back problem.

U.S. international Fabian Johnson is set to return to full training with Borussia Monchengladbach ahead of his country's forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Johnson, 29, missed Gladbach's victory over local rivals Cologne last weekend with back problems and has not trained with the team since Aug. 17.

However, speaking at a news conference ahead of the weekend match at Augsburg, Gladbach coach Dieter Hecking said: "Fabian should be back in training today. He would then be an option for the matchday...

Striker Raul Bobadilla has left Augsburg after four seasons.

Striker Raul Bobadilla has rejoined Borussia Monchengladbach on a two-year contract after passing a medical.

Monchengladbach tweeted the announcement of a deal for Bobadilla -- also a former Grasshoppers, Young Boys and Basel player - with a picture featuring the caption: "BOBA IS BACK."
