Oliver Burke scored his first Bundesliga goal as Leipzig extended their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-1 draw in Cologne.

The Scottish midfielder opened his Bundesliga account with a low left-footed shot which took a deflection off Frederik Sorensen on its way past Timo Horn in the fifth minute.

Yuya Osako drilled a shot into the top left-hand corner of Peter Gulacsi's goal, beating the Leipzig custodian inside his near post to bring Cologne level after 25 minutes.

German court rules clubs can seek damages from supporters

A Cologne fan left seven people injured after throwing a firework at the Mungersdorfer Stadion.

Germany's Federal Court of Justice (BGH) has ruled that clubs are within their rights to seek damages from fans for fines handed to them by the German Football Association (DFB) for violating stadium rules.

The case on trial was an incident at a second-tier match between Cologne and Paderborn in February 2014, in which a supporter threw a firework from the upper tier into the lower tier of the Mungersdorfer Stadion, leaving seven people hurt, with two suffering severe head injuries.

Markus Weinzierl and Schalke have not enjoyed a good start to the season.

Schalke suffered their fourth consecutive defeat of the season as they crashed to a 3-1 defeat against Cologne on Wednesday.

It is only the second time in the Royal Blues' history they have failed to register a point after four games.

"I did not expect to start with four defeats," coach Markus Weinzierl, who joined from Augsburg, said after the latest loss. "We have lost a match we should not have lost. You could see today that the team is under pressure."
