Sacha Kljestan scored a late goal to help the New York Red Bulls beat Alianza FC 1-0 in Harrison, New Jersey, in Group F play of the CONCACAF Champions League.

Kljestan, 31, picked up an endline pass from Gonzalo Veron and hit a well-placed, first-time shot from the center of the penalty area past Alianza keeper Oscar Arroyo.

The win keeps New York atop the Group F standings and means they just need a win or draw or to not lose by more than four goals in its finale against Antigua to make it to...

Diego Rubio, left, battles for the ball in Sporting KC's 2-1 los to Vancouver in the CCL.

The Vancouver Whitecaps beat Sporting KC 2-1 in a CONCACAF Champions League game marred by a lengthy weather delay.

Players and coaches went to the dressing room in the 36th minute with severe lightning in the vicinity of Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City.

Vancouver came out the stronger team after the forced intermission when the teams returned to the field to restart the match. Erik Hurtado slotted home an Alphonso Davies' pass to give the Whitecaps a 1-0 lead...
