Atletico Nacional fans celebrate their Copa Libertadores final on Wednesday.

Celebrations in Colombia after Atletico Nacional won the Copa Libertadores final on Wednesday ended in violence, with four fans killed in a night of boisterous revelry.

It was Nacional's second-ever title in the premier South American club tournament and the first by a Colombian team since 2004.

One of those killed was wearing the shirt of a rival Medellin...

"Marlos is going to Manchester and Manchester will not let him play," he told a news conference.

Strangest tackle of the year seen during Colombian cup game

If there were an award handed out for the strangest tackle of the year, then we strongly believe that this entry spotted during a recent Colombian cup match would be a nailed-on cinch to take the 2015 honours.

During the tie between Once Caldas and Deportes Tolima, one defender managed to raise a sea of quizzical eyebrows when he went thundering into a reckless, two-footed airborne horror lunge on ... absolutely nobody.

Madness. Still, there's a role for him going in the next "Street Fighter" g...

James Rodriguez, Jackson Martinez suffer minor injuries

Real Madrid star James Rodríguez injured his knee and Atletico Madrid forward Jackson Martinez suffered a bruise on his tibia in Colombia's 1-1 draw against Peru during a friendly on Tuesday in Harrison, New Jersey. Team doctor Carlos Ulloa confirmed both of the injuries, saying that Martinez's injury was a "minor bruise."

"James' knee shows trauma, but it is nothing major and he was taken off the pitch as a preventive measure," Ulloa said. "We are evaluating, but it is apparently nothing serious....
