The Champions League trophy has been lifted by some incredibly famous hands over the years, with the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jose Mourinho and David May all getting their paws on UEFA's grand prize.

However, the iconic cup was hoisted aloft by two of the most easily-recognisable hands in the world on Friday morning, not least because they usually have eight-inch blades jutting out from the knuckles.

Indeed, Marvel superhero Wolverine -- or actor Hugh Jackman, as he's known professionally...

Mehmet Durakovic takes over at Perak after Karl Heinz-Weigang exit

ESPN FC's Jason Dasey gives an inside look at the 2015 Malaysia Cup final as Selangor were crowned champions for the 33rd time.
New Perak boss Mehmet Durakovic last coached in the MSL with Selangor in the 2015 season.

Former Australia international Mehmet Durakovic has been appointed Perak coach after Karl Heinz-Weigang officially left the silver state side on Wednesday, leaving many fans shocked by his exit.

Australian midfielder Tim Cahill
With many of Australia's strikers struggling for game time, the Socceroos may once again have to rely on Tim Cahill.

Socceroos talisman Tim Cahill says he's ready to lead Australia's line in next month's World Cup qualifiers.

With Jamie Maclaren's international career in its infancy, Matthew Leckie enduring a protracted national team goal drought, Apostolos Giannou, Robbie Kruse and Nathan Burns all out of season it's likely that Cahill will play the role of Australia's frontman against Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.

And it's a task the 37-year-old, all-time Socceroos leading goalscorer says he's up for.

Jason Geria admits his form not good enough for Socceroos call-up

Melbourne Victory's Jason Geria
Jason Geria was brave enough to admit that his club form has been below par this season.

Defender Jason Geria has admitted that his form for Melbourne Victory in the A-League this season is not good enough for him to earn a Soccceroos call-up.

The Victory right-back has steadily improved his form this season, helping the A-League force push Sydney FC for the title.

Geria was called up for two qualifiers in March last year off the back of his club form and then debuted in a friendly match with Greece in June.

There's also a neon-lighted vacant sign over the right-back position.
