A dramatic finish saw Romania draw 1-1 with Montenegro in their World Cup qualifier in Cluj-Napoca.

A largely uninspiring 85 minutes preceded the opening goal as Romania, in their first game under their first foreign coach Christoph Daum, went ahead through Adrian Popa's strike from Nicolae Stanciu's cross.

It looked like it might prove to be the winning goal but the lead lasted only two minutes before Stevan Jovetic headed home from a Damir Kojasevic free-kick.

Late Lallana goal as England edge Slovakia; Germany, Scotland cruise

Adam Lallana ensured Sam Allardyce's reign as England manager got off to a dramatic winning start with a strike deep into injury time to beat Slovakia 1-0.

Allardyce had looked as though he would have to settle for a deeply uninspiring stalemate in Trnava -- the hosts having held firm in the World Cup Group F qualifier despite Martin Skrtel's sending-off after a nasty stamp on Harry Kane.

However Lallana picked a perfect moment to break his international duck and seal three points.

A superior Russia took care of Montenegro with goals from Oleg Kuzmin and Alexandr Kokorin to win 2-0.

First-half goals from Oleg Kuzmin and Aleksandr Kokorin booked Russia's place at Euro 2016 with a 2-0 victory over Montenegro in Moscow.

Kuzmin fired a 33rd-minute opener and Kokorin added a penalty four minutes later as the Russians guaranteed second place in Group G behind runaway winners Austria.

Leonid Slutsky's side had gone into the game knowing victory would be enough to book their final place, but that anything less could see them pipped into a play-off place.
