Gregory van der Wiel claims he was defruaded of $4.5m in business deal

Fenerbahce and Holland manager Dick Advocaat believes that Turkey should use their academies more than buying from abroad.
Gregory van der Wiel earns $2.4 million per season at Fenerbahce.

Gregory van der Wiel says he was swindled out of $4.5 million after moving to Fenerbahce from PSG last season.

The Netherlands international, who has struggled to make an impact after transitioning from Ligue 1 to the Turkish Super Lig, now says he has been juggling his footballing commitments with battling a fraud case.

Van der Wiel claims he was the victim of fraud at the hands of a businessman that took millions from him and then tried to extort a further $600,000.

Dennis Bergkamp rolls back the years with a wonderful goal for Ajax

Dennis Bergkamp turns back the clock with a golazo, Chelsea enjoy the spoils as champions, and much more in the Sweeper.

When it comes to talent, there are few who can match former Arsenal striker Dennis Bergkamp. And the 48-year-old seemingly still has what it takes to score wonderful goals, even at his age.

Taking to the field again for Ajax -- the club where he now works as assistant manager -- in a memorial match to mark the 20th anniversary of Dick van Dijk's death, the Dutchman rolled back the years with this fine strike.

Since retiring in 2006, Arsenal have struggled to replace Bergkamp, with even Mesut...

Dick Advocaat appointed Netherlands coach, Ruud Gullit as assistant

Dick Advocaat has been named Netherlands coach for the third time, with Ruud Gullit as his assistant.

The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed the appointments at a news conference in Zeist on Tuesday morning. The announcement sees former Rangers and Sunderland boss Advocaat, who turns 70 in September, become his country's oldest national coach, usurping Guus Hiddink who was 68 when he left the hotseat in June 2015.

Dick Advocaat set for his third spell as Netherlands coach - reports

Steve Nicol says the 'spiral' the Netherlands find themselves in lately goes beyond whoever the coach is.

Fenerbahce boss Dick Advocaat is set to be appointed Netherlands coach for a third time, according to De Telegraaf and Sky Sports.

Advocaat, who turns 70 in September, would become his country's oldest ever national coach, usurping Guus Hiddink, who was 68 when he left the job in June 2015.

Hiddink's successor Danny Blind, who was unable to lead the team to Euro 2016, was sacked in March in the wake of the 2-0 World Cup qualifying loss to Bulgaria.

Webb: VAR would've helped get De Jong decision right in 2010 WC final

Former Premier League referee Howard Webb shares the ins and outs of the VAR initiative.
ESPN's Bob Ley speaks with U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati about the decision to make a joint bid for the 2026 World Cup.

Former referee Howard Webb said there were "loads of times" when he wished he had the assistance of video replay, including the 2010 World Cup final, in which he famously failed to send off the Netherlands' Nigel de Jong for a high kick on Spain's Xabi Alonso.

Netherlands defender De Jong kicked Xabi Alonso in the midsection early in the first half but only received a yellow card from Webb, who insists he had a poor view of the play. Andres Iniesta later scored in extra time to hand Spain the nation's...
