Andriy Yarmolenko won't fill Ousmane Dembele's boots at Borussia Dortmund

Andriy Yarmolenko's €25 million to Borussia Dortmund set a new record transfer fee for a sale by Dynamo Kiev, beating the €23m the club collected for Andriy Shevchenko when he moved to AC Milan in 1999.

That is flattering in the extreme, of course, though Yarmolenko only managed to equal the overall Ukrainian transfers record. It belongs to none other than Dmytro Chygrynskiy, bought by Barcelona from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2009.

Mourinho denies reports of scouting trip to Croatia: 'I have no hidden cause'

Jose Mourinho did not attend Friday's match between Croatia and Ukraine in a scouting capacity, the Manchester United boss says. Instead, he was there to soak up the sunshine.

The United manager was in Zagreb for Croatia's 1-0 win in World Cup qualifying -- a result which saw them retain their place atop the Group I table.

His visit elicited suggestions he was on hand to meet with the representatives of Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic, who did not play due to suspension.

Gianluigi Buffon kept a clean sheet in his 1,000th professional appearance for club and country as Italy beat Albania 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier on Friday.
